PIP/PEP Data & Adverse Media Analyst
Botswana & Namibia / Remote | Part-time / Contract
Role Summary
Softdayta Risk is looking for a detail-oriented analyst who enjoys politics and follows current affairs. The role focuses on maintaining and improving PIP/PEP data for Botswana and Namibia, including domestic PIP coverage, close family members, close associates, and adverse media monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Review staged imports from PDFs, web pages, and transcripts
- Approve or reject candidate records before they enter the live database
- Verify PIP roles and classifications using reliable public sources
- Update basis in document, source excerpts, and source links
- Maintain domestic PIP coverage across government, regulators, SOEs, political parties, and traditional leadership
- Capture close family members and close associates with evidence and confidence levels
- Perform adverse media monitoring and record risk themes
- Resolve duplicates and fragmented profiles
- Support Excel, CSV, and JSON data exports for clients
- Maintain last verified date, next review due date, and source reliability
Requirements
- Strong interest in politics, governance, and current affairs
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good judgement and cautious evidence-based writing
- Comfortable working with structured data and Excel templates
- Basic understanding of AML/CFT, PEP, PIP, RCA, or adverse media concepts is an advantage
- Comfortable working in a web-based admin workflow
- Research, compliance support, journalism, admin, or analyst experience is preferred
- Strong writing and summarisation skills
